Anthony Sertick began practicing law in 1991, opening a part time solo general practice and simultaneously becoming an Assistant Law Director for the City of Youngstown. His private practice, which spanned 8 years, focused on traffic and criminal defense and civil litigation. He has also served as an Assistant Mahoning County Prosecutor and the Legal Administrator for the Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services.
For the past 20 years he has served as the Magistrate of the Youngstown Municipal Court. His duties included presiding over the court’s entire civil docket, traffic and criminal arraignments and felony preliminary hearings. Upon his retirement from the bench in August 2021, he has joined the law firm of Maguire Schneider Hassay, LLP.
Attorney Sertick has been and continues to be an advocate for the rights of people with physical or mental disabilities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Vice President of the local Goodwill Board Of Directors, the Hine Memorial Trust Fund for Disabled Children distribution committee and is one of only two public members on the Board of Directors of the American Board of Certification of Orthotists, Prosthetists and Pedorthists.
