Myth!

Spousal support is not guaranteed. MSH Associate Brittany Gregorchik explains, “Spousal support typically is not awarded unless the length of the marriage was 8 years or more and there is at least a $10,000 or more per year income difference. However, the court can and has awarded limited spousal support in divorces that are less than 8 years when one spouse is disabled and cannot work.” Every divorce is unique, and understanding your rights can be complicated. If you have questions, MSH is here to help.
