Fake Text Messages Claiming to Be from the Ohio BMV

A fake text claiming to be from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) is circulating — threatening license suspension and legal action over unpaid traffic tickets. It even links to a very official-looking but fraudulent website.

Do not be fooled—the Ohio BMV does not send text messages demanding payment or requesting personal information.

If you receive one of these messages:
• Do not click the link.
• Do not provide payment or personal info.
• Delete the message immediately.

As a LegalShield Member, you have the power to check with your provider law firm if you ever receive suspicious notices like this. When in doubt — call us before you click.
