Know your rights before you travel
According to LegalShield, 63% of travelers have lost money due to travel disruptions, and 61% mistakenly believe they’re entitled to compensation – which is not necessarily the case following recent changes to the law.
MSH Managing Partner Wayne Hassay recently spoke to Houston’s KRIV Fox News about what travelers should know before heading to the airport this holiday season. Wayne explained that passengers are entitled to a refund if a flight is canceled only if they choose not to travel, and that hotel or meal vouchers for delays depend on each airline’s contract – not federal law. Wayne emphasized the importance of knowing your airline’s policies before you fly, documenting everything during disruptions, and leading with patience and kindness when problems arise.
