Myth!

New vehicles often include manufacturer warranties that extend beyond Ohio’s “Lemon Law” period (the earlier of one year or 18,000 miles). According to MSH Associate Theo Kelly, many components and systems carry limited warranties ranging from one to 10 years.

“Terms are often in your glove box or online and usually outline escalation steps if a dealership won’t honor the warranty,” Theo said. “Many major manufacturers also participate in the BBB Auto Line program, which is often free to consumers.”
