Too good to be true?
For many fans, attending a World Cup match is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Unfortunately, it’s also a prime opportunity for scammers.
According to LegalShield, 35% of consumers have experienced ticket-related issues. Among them, 68% purchased a “ghost ticket”—a ticket the seller never actually had—and 36% had a seemingly valid ticket rejected at the gate as fraudulent.
Wayne Hassay recently spoke with WSB-TV Atlanta about common ticket scams and the steps consumers can take to protect themselves. He advises buyers to be wary of unofficial websites, verify sellers before making a purchase, and think twice before jumping on a deal that seems too good to be true.
